On September 16, 2012, Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash involving two motorcycles on CH17, the Banks Lowman Highway, at mile marker 26.3, west of Lowman.

William H. McNair Jr., age 46 of Greenville, SC, was traveling westbound on CH17 on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle.  McNair drifted out of his lane and into the oncoming lane while turning a corner.  Susan G. Bendickson, age 54 of Priest River, was traveling eastbound on CH17 on a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle.  McNair's motorcycle clipped Bendickson's motorcycle causing her to crash.  Bendickson was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.  Both drivers were wearing helmets.

This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
