This project supplies Bonner CSO with mobile data terminals, which will allow deputies to see and retrieve information from anywhere in the stream of data coming from the dispatch center without impeding the response of other personnel. Once the systems are implemented they expect to reduce non-emergency radio traffic through the dispatch center with participating agencies by 50%. Reducing non-emergency communication will allow for improved emergency services from Bonner Communications/911 and the participating law enforcement agencies.

Coeur d' Alene Police Department

Regional ALPR Upgrade Project

The Coeur d'Alene Police Department, in coordination with the Post Falls Police Department and the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department is expanding on the regional Automatic License Plate Recognition system (ALPR) in their area. The system can be used to check vehicle license plates for a host of criminal activity including stolen vehicles, BOLO requests, drug investigations, and much more. It can also be used as an evidence based tool in criminal investigations and can aid in the capture of offenders that use the major roadways leading in and out of Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, and across the state lines of Washington and Montana.
