Our new system for distributing Idaho State Police News Releases can get you news about the Idaho State Police in a faster and more efficient manner. By subscribing to our News Release list(s), you will be assured of getting releases directly to your e-mail address immediately as they are issued. With this new system, we have discontinued faxing news releases and can now get all subscribers the news at the same time.
The e-mail lists are organized by district. We will send releases out to the district(s) to which they most pertain. Sometimes if a story is of statewide interest, we will send to several or all of the district lists. You will probably want to subscribe first to the list in your district. You can also subscribe to the other district lists if you like, but realize that by doing so you may occasionally get stories not of interest to you for your district.
When you first sign up, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail. You will need to reply to this to complete your sign-up. If you don't, you will not be added.
Anyone can sign up. You need not be a news organization to sign up. ISP News Releases are public information and so they are available to anyone interested.
The releases will be sent out in plain text format. You will not need Word, Adobe Acrobat, or any other special program to view them. In fact, if your cellular phone or PDA is e-mail enabled, you can receive releases on it as well.
An archive feature allows you to search through old releases if you like. After selecting on the desired list name, you can search for particular releases by words likely to be in the release.
The Idaho State Police will not share your email and you will not be added to any other lists nor receive any other information other that news releases from ISP. Others cannot see your e-mail address in releases that are issued.
