Good news! Idaho State Police Troopers have learned the dog that ran off after a collision on the Rathdrum Prarie Sunday has been located. He's safe and was been reunited with his Hayden family earlier this morning. The dog was reportedly found on a farm near where the collision occurred.
Search for Witnesses: ISP continues to search for answers as to how the collision occurred that caused the dog to be ejected from the vehicle he was riding in. The collision occurred late Sunday morning at the intersection of SH 41 and Hayden Avenue between Post Falls and Rathdrum. Investigating Troopers say it's fortunate everyone involved in the crash is now okay, but finding out just what happened is also important. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact ISP Sergeant Allen Ashby at (208) 209-8730.
June 7, 7:30 p.m. - On Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 11:55 a.m., Idaho State Police Troopers were called to a collision blocking the intersection of SH 41 and Hayden Avenue on the Rathdrum Prairie between Post Falls and Rathdrum in Kootenai County. The collision involves the driver of a red 2016 GMC Yukon towing a white horse trailer westbound on Hayden Avenue attempting to turn south (left) onto SH 41 from westbound Hayden Avenue. At the same time, the driver of a silver 2005 Buick LeSabre was northbound on SH 41. The two vehicles collided in the intersection. The driver of the Buick, a man from Spirit Lake, was transported to a nearby hospital and was treated and released. No one else was injured.

Additionally, ISP is asking anyone in the area of SH 41 and Hayden Avenue to be on the lookout for a dog who was ejected from the rear of the GMC as a result of the collision. The dog is a 2- year-old Border Collie Heeler mix that goes by the name "Tilly". Tilly has no tail, a dark-colored face, weighs approximately 70 pounds, and was wearing a multi-colored plaid and tan-colored collar with a name tag containing the owner's contact information.
Tilly was last seen running northwest from the crash scene through the field and has not yet been located as of the time of this release. Tilly's family is from Hayden and is doing all they can to find the dog. Anyone in the area who has seen or who finds Tilly is urged to contact the owners listed on Tilly's tag, the Idaho State Police at (208) 209-7830, or the Kootenai County Sheriff Office's Animal Control at (208) 446-1300, so Tilly can be reunited with his owners.
