On March 31, 2014, at approximately 11:34 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84, at milepost 165, near Jerome, ID.
Bernadette T. Nelson, 50, of Pocatello, ID was driving a 1998 Chevrolet van, when she attempted to make an illegal U-turn through an interstate emergency crossover. Emily Osterhout-Priest, 67, of Meridian, ID was driving west on Interstate 84, in a 2012 Ford Escape. Osterhout-Priest's vehicle struck Nelson's vehicle as Nelson drove in front of her.
Nelson and Osterhout-Priest were both wearing seatbelts. Both subjects were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, ID.
Alcohol is involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
