On September 14, 2012, at approximately 9:23 pm, the Idaho State Police investigated a fatal crash on US Highway 91 near Firth. Arnold Gene Taylor, 42, of Firth, was driving northbound on his motorcycle when he collided with a deer. Taylor was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.

Traffic on US Highway 91 was diverted around the scene for approximately one hour while the police investigated the crash.
