On Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 5:30 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a head-on crash involving a pickup truck and a semi. Khom Sibounheuang, age 70 of Twin Falls, was westbound on Interstate 84 in a 1989 Toyota pickup when for unknown reasons, he crossed through the median into the eastbound lanes of travel where he collided with a semi. Mr. Sibounheuang died instantly upon impact. The semi driver, Paul I. Hendrieth, age 58 of Hollywood, Florida, was transported to Elmore Medical Center and later released with minor injuries. The right lane of the westbound traffic is still blocked due to clean up at this time.
This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police Trooper Higley, with assistance from Sergeant Stauffer, Trooper Carmack, Trooper Ferris as well as ITD, Elmore County Deputies and EMS personnel.
