Idaho State Police are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred at 3:37 PM on April 18, 2023, on US 95 at mile post 456, near Careywood, in Bonner County.

The driver of a green Subaru Forester was stopped in the northbound lane of travel, waiting to make a left turn onto Barnhart Road. Northbound traffic was passing the turning vehicle using the right shoulder. The driver of a black Ford Fusion passenger car rear-ended the green Subaru Forester pushing it into the southbound lane of travel when it collided with a grey Ford Fusion that was traveling southbound. The roadway was completely blocked.

The driver of the black Ford Fusion passenger car was occupied by a 28-year-old female. She was transported to Kootenai Health by ambulance for evaluation. The green Subaru Forester was occupied by a 28-year-old female, and she was transported to Kootenai Health by ambulance for evaluation. The driver of the grey Ford Fusion was a 41-year-old male who was uninjured. Seatbelts were worn by all drivers.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
