Commercial Vehicle Property Crash SH57 mp 7 Priest River

Idaho State Police is investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred just before 1246 hours on July 18th, 2024, in Bonner County, Idaho. The crash occurred on State Highway 57 near mile post 7, just north of Priest River. A 27-year-old male, from Spokane Valley, Washington, was driving a white 2002 Sterling Tanker Truck loaded with Emulsified Asphalt Dust Abatement, northbound on State Highway 57, when he drove onto the right shoulder, overcorrected and loss control. The truck came back onto the roadway, went left of center, and entered the southbound lane. The truck overturned and came to rest on its side blocking the roadway. Approximately 2700 gallons of the load was spilled on the roadway. The driver was the only occupant, was wearing his seatbelts and was uninjured. SH 57 was blocked for approximately 6.5 hours. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
