Fatality crash Eastbound Interstate 90, east of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:58 a.m. on August 2^nd, 2024, eastbound on Interstate 90 near milepost 19 just east of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

At approximately 10:58 a.m., a 31-year-old female, from Post Falls, Idaho, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 near milepost 19 in a 2000 Dodge Durango. There was also a 31-year-old male who was a passenger in the vehicle.  The driver of the Durango ran off the roadway on the right shoulder, over corrected and crashed into the center concrete jersey barrier.  Subsequently, the vehicle overturned on the roadway where it came to rest on its top. Both the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.  The passenger was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance.

The roadway was blocked for approximately three hours. The Idaho State Police continues to investigate this crash.
