Idaho State Police Forensic Services Announces 2024 Idaho Forensic Science Educator of the Year Award Winner

MERIDIAN, Idaho – In recognition of National Forensic Science Week, Idaho State Police Forensic Services (ISPFS) is proud to announce Sally Pham, a high school forensics teacher at Eagle High School, as the recipient of the 2024 Idaho Forensic Science Educator of the Year.

With over eight years of experience in the classroom, Sally Pham is known for her innovative and engaging teaching style, making forensic science accessible and exciting for her students. Her progressive grading practices promote a growth mindset, allowing students to learn from their mistakes and continuously improve. This approach fosters an inclusive and empowering environment where students feel encouraged to pursue careers in forensic science and other scientific fields.

“Sally Pham’s contributions to the field of forensic science education are invaluable,” said ISPFS Lab System Director Matthew Gamette. “Her dedication to developing the next generation of forensic scientists and commitment to aligning her curriculum with the high standards of the Idaho State Police Forensic Services demonstrates a passion and leadership in education. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Pham has played a pivotal role in professional development for her fellow educators. She has been instrumental in creating and implementing curriculum standards and proficiency scales that align with the needs of both ISPFS and the West Ada School District. Her leadership and dedication have had a profound and lasting impact on students and educators alike, underscoring the significance of her work in the community.
