State Highway-46 Blocked after Multi-vehicle Crash in Twin Falls County

TWIN FALLS COUNTY, Idaho – Multi-vehicle crash causes road blockage on SH46.

Idaho State Police is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:48 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, on SH46 at milepost 91, south of Wendell.

A 1994 Kenworth truck with a trailer, driven by a 44-year-old male from Mexico, was northbound on SH46, when he failed to yield for traffic that was slowed in the area. The Kenworth struck the rear of a 2007 Freightliner truck with a trailer, driven by a 24-year-old male from Twin Falls. The Freightliner then struck the rear of a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 66-year-old male from Hagerman. The Chevrolet struck the rear of a 2001 Ford F250 pickup pulling a trailer, driven by a 26-year-old male from Eden.

The driver of the Tahoe was taken to a local hospital via ground ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was blocked for approximately two and a half hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Buhl Police Department, Twin Falls County Sheriff, Magic Valley Paramedics, and Buhl Fire.
