3-Vehicle Injury Crash Highway 95 Milepost 295, South of Lapwai.

Idaho State Police is investigating a 3-vehicle crash which occurred on 02/28/2025 at 6:14 p.m. on Highway 95 near milepost 295, south of Lapwai, ID.

A gray 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling southbound on the highway without headlights. A gold 2014 Nissan Altima sedan, traveling northbound, began to pass a dark blue 2004 GMC New Sierra pickup truck. The Nissan Altima collided head-on with the gray GMC Sierra pickup truck, causing the truck to roll onto its side and come to rest in the center of the highway. The dark blue GMC New Sierra pickup truck was also impacted by this crash.

The driver of the Nissan Altima, a 50 year-old male from Caldwell, ID, was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. The driver of the gray GMC Sierra, an 18 year-old male from Weippe, ID, and the driver of the dark blue GMC New Sierra, a 63 year-old male from Redmond, OR, were both treated and released by medical personnel on scene.

Seatbelts were in use by all parties involved. The highway was fully blocked for approximately one hour, then reopened to one lane. It was fully reopened three and a half hours after the crash.

Assisting agencies included Lewiston Fire Department, Lewiston EMS, Lapwai Fire Department, Nez Perce Tribal Police, Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office, and Idaho Transportation Department.

This crash remains under investigation.
