Idaho State Police investigating two crashes just north of Blackfoot

BINGHAM COUNTY, ID – Idaho State Police are investigating two crashes which occurred on Tuesday August 5,2025, at approximately 5:32 p.m. on I15 heading northbound just north of Blackfoot.
A 1986 Peterbilt semi-truck that was hauling two bulldozers, driven by a 36-year-old male from New Plymouth was travelling northbound when it struck the Porterville Rd. bridge. Then a 2013 Volvo semi-truck that was hauling two bulldozers, driven by a 47-year-old male from Las Vagas, NV, was travelling northbound behind the first semi when it also struck the bridge.
Both drivers of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts.
The northbound lanes from milepost 89 to 93 are currently closed, as well as the southbound lanes from the 98 to 93. The Porterville Rd. bridge will be shut down until further notice as the Idaho Transportation Department works to repair it.
Idaho State Police is being assisted by Bingham Law Enforcement, Bingham EMS, as well as Idaho Transportation Department.
