On March 11, 2020, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a crash at the intersection of State Highway 81 and State Highway 77 in Declo, Cassia County, Idaho. Jesus D. Cervantes, 19, of Burley, Idaho, was driving a 1995 Volvo straight truck eastbound on State Highway 81, attempting to turn right onto southbound State Highway 77. Cervantes failed to negotiate the turn and his vehicle overturned. The truck was hauling a load of liquid fertilizer, which spilled onto the roadway.

Cervantes was wearing a seatbelt. The road was blocked for approximately 4.5 hours.

Idaho State Police was assisted at the scene by Cassia County Sheriff's Office, Declo Fire Department, Declo QRU, and Life Run Ambulance Service.
