On Friday, February 28, 2020, at approximately 7:54 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash northbound SH51 at milepost 37, in Owyhee County.
Christopher McConnell, 66, of Vancouver, Canada, was northbound on SH51 at milepost 37. He was driving a 1996 Chevrolet motorhome. Marthayn Manning, 68, of Mountain Home was southbound on SH51 at milepost 37. She was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. The motorhome crossed the center line and struck the front of the cruze. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder of the southbound lane. Manning was transported to the St Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise by air ambulance.
Both Manning and McConnell were wearing seatbelts. The lanes were blocked for approximately one hour for the air ambulance. This crash is currently under investigation by Idaho State Police.
