Injury Crash in Preston

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating an injury crash that occurred on February 28, 2026 at 3:44 p.m., on S. State Street just north of W. 1st Street, in Preston.

A 62-year-old male from Nibley, Utah was driving a 2003 pickup truck southbound on State Street. A 67-year-old male from Preston was occupying a crosswalk on State Street on a mobility scooter and was struck by the pickup truck.  

The 67-year-old male was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

The southbound lanes were blocked for approximately 3 hours.

ISP was assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Preston Police Department, and Franklin County Fire & EMS.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
