Two-Vehicle Injury Crash Near Iona

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at 3:31 p.m. on March 25, 2026, at the intersection of US26 and N 45th E, just north of Iona.

An 81-year-old male of Idaho Falls, was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 northbound on N 45th E. A 27-year-old male driver of Idaho Falls, and 22-year-old male passenger, of Iona, were traveling in a 2015 Western Star Sewer truck, westbound on US26. The 81-year-old driver failed to yield, causing the vehicles to collide in the intersection.

The driver of the Dodge was transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver and passenger of the Western Star Sewer truck were transported by a private party. Both drivers were not wearing seatbelts. The passenger was wearing a seatbelt.

The westbound lanes of US26 remain blocked while crews work to clear the crash scene. The left eastbound lane was blocked for approximately 2 hours. Eastbound lanes are back open.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Bonneville County Sherrif’s Office, Rocky Mountain Power, Bonneville County EMS, Bonneville County Fire, and Idaho State Transportation Department.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
