Idaho State Police seeking public assistance in investigating a crash in Lewiston
LEWISTON, Idaho — Idaho State Police are investigating a crash involving an officer with the Lewiston Police Department that occurred early this morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. on April 26 at the intersection of D Street and 5th Street in Lewiston. A Lewiston Police Department patrol vehicle, a black 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 30-year-old female officer from Lewiston, was traveling westbound on D Street. A black 2009 Cadillac Escalade, driven by 29-year-old Tristyn Weeks of Lewiston, was also traveling westbound behind the patrol vehicle. While passing, the driver of the Cadillac Escalade struck the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The intersection was closed for approximately six hours while emergency responders worked at the scene. Idaho State Police were assisted by the Lewiston Police Department, Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office, Lewiston Prosecutor’s Office, Lewiston Fire Department, and Lewiston Public Works.
This crash remains under investigation. Idaho State Police are seeking the public’s assistance. Anyone who had contact with Tristyn Weeks or who observed the black Cadillac Escalade prior to the crash is asked to contact ISP at (208) 750-9300 and reference case number 2026-00051803.
