Officer Involved Critical Incident, near Lucille in Idaho County

On May 22, 2026, at approximately 9:51 p.m., the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a female reporting that an unidentified male was threatening to shoot her.

Deputies responded to the scene and made contact with the individuals involved. During the encounter, shots were fired, and the male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers were injured during the incident.

The Idaho State Police has been requested to conduct an independent officer-involved critical incident investigation.
