Two Vehicle Fatality Crash in Bonneville County

Bonneville, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred at 5:39 PM on August 6th, 2026, on S Yellowstone Highway at S 15^th W, just south of Idaho Falls.

A black 2014 Honda Motorcycle, driven by a 20-year-old male, from Idaho Falls, was driving northbound on S Yellowstone Highway in the center turn lane when he was merging into the lane of travel and collided with a white GMC pickup, driven by a 61-year-old male with a 61-year-old female passenger both from Shelley, Idaho, also traveling southbound on S Yellowstone Highway attempting to make a left hand turn onto S 15^th W.

All occupants in the GMC were wearing seat belts. The driver of the Honda was wearing a helmet. The Honda driver succumbed to their injuries on scene.

The northbound lane was blocked for approximately 3 hours.

This incident remains under investigation by ISP.
