Fatal Crash on US95 near milepost 395, Benewah County

The Idaho State Police are investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred August 19^th, 2026 at approximately 2:38 p.m. on US Highway 95 near milepost 395 in Benewah County, Idaho.

A 25-year-old female of Plummer, ID, was travelling southbound on US95 in a red 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and turned left on Seltice Avenue. A 63-year-old male of Rathdrum, ID, was travelling northbound on US95 on a 2026 Honda motorcycle and was unable to stop and struck the Jeep as it turned.

The male rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female driver of the Jeep was released from the scene.

The roadway was intermittently blocked for approximately three hours and is now open.

The female driver was wearing a seatbelt. The male rider was wearing a helmet.

Next of kin has been notified.

The investigation was assisted by the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police department, the Plummer Police Department, and the Benewah Sheriff’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
