Two-Vehicle Injury Crash in Valley County

VALLEY COUNTY, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred on September 22, 2026, at approximately 10:31 A.M. The crash occurred on southbound SH55 at approximately mile marker 117, north of Cascade.

A 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 24-year-old male from Cascade, was driving northbound on State Highway 55. A 2017 Ford Escape, driven by a 76-year-old male from Olympia, Washington, was traveling southbound. The Malibu crossed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with the Escape.

The driver of the Escape and a 73-year-old female passenger were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Malibu and a 24-year-old male passenger were air lifted to an area hospital. The driver and passenger of Malibu were not wearing seatbelts. The driver and passenger of Escape were wearing seatbelts.

The roadway was blocked for approximately three and a half hours.

ISP was assisted Valley County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Department of Transportation, Life Flight Network, Air St Lukes, Cascade Fire & EMS, and Donnelly Fire & EMS.

This incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
