Pedestrian vs train fatality near Sagle, Bonner County

Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian-train crash that occurred just before 0255 hours on October 21, 2026, in Bonner County, Idaho. The crash occurred on the tracks near the intersection of Dufort Rd and Lakeshore Dr., just west of Sagle, Idaho. A 23-year-old male, from Spokane WA, was laying across the tracks, when he was struck by a northbound train. The male died of his injuries. The train emergency braked and stopped shortly after. Next of kin have been notified. The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Assisting agencies: Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, Selkirk Fire.
