The Idaho State Police (ISP) is committed to protecting and serving the people of Idaho through professional, ethical, and forward-thinking law enforcement. Since our founding in 1919, we have upheld a proud tradition of safeguarding lives, property, and individual rights while building trust with the communities we serve. Our mission is grounded in traffic safety, criminal investigations, and public outreach, carried out in close collaboration with local, state, and federal partners. We recognize that the community is integral to our mission and value their support and cooperation.

As Director of ISP, I am honored to continue building on the solid foundation laid by those who came before me. Their dedication, foresight, and leadership made ISP the respected organization it is today. With that legacy in mind, I remain deeply committed to the people within our agency, recognizing that they are the backbone of our operations and Idaho’s citizens.

Our focus on critical issues like human trafficking and the fentanyl crisis reflects our dedication to Idaho’s safety. Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights, and ISP is dedicated to eradicating this crime by disrupting trafficking networks and supporting victims. The rise of fentanyl has also created a significant public health crisis. ISP is fully engaged in combating this dangerous drug, preventing its spread, and mitigating its devastating effects on Idaho’s communities.

At ISP, innovation is vital. We are committed to approaching challenges with fresh perspectives and finding new solutions. One of our greatest strengths is that the best ideas can come from anyone in the agency, regardless of rank or position. In this collaborative environment, the merit of ideas matters most, fostering a culture where everyone’s input is valued.

Public safety remains at the heart of our mission. With integrity, professionalism, and a drive for innovation, we will continue positively impacting the people of Idaho. Our commitment to the safety and security of Idaho’s citizens is unwavering. Together, we will confront the challenges and work toward a safer and more secure future for all.
