On Wednesday, June 6 at approximately 7:24pm, a white 2006 dodge pickup lost control on US12 at milepost 17. Witnesses saw the vehicle enter the river and begin to float downstream. Shortly after the crash, Nez Perce County deployed divers to attempt to locate the vehicle and driver with no success due to hazardous conditions. The vehicle was recovered June 9. The body of the deceased driver of the vehicle, Rodney W Grant, 47, of Lewiston was recovered June 10 approximately 6 miles downriver. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
