FINAL UPDATE: On October 14, 2017 at around 4:50 p.m. the Idaho State Police responded to a two vehicle fatality crash on Simplot Blvd and Notus Rd in Caldwell, ID.

Joselyn Valenzuela, 18 of Wilder, was headed southbound on Notus Rd along with two juveniles in a 1999 Mercury Mystique. Greg Granden of Caldwell and his passenger Kent Granden of Homedale were headed westbound on Simplot Blvd in a 1986 Ford F150 pulling a 2016 utility trailer. Valenzuela attempted to turn eastbound onto Simplot Blvd, failed to yield to Granden, and her vehicle was struck. Both vehicles came to rest on the southbound side of Simplot Blvd.

Joselyn Valenzuela succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Greg Granden as well as both juvenile passengers were transported by ground ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell. Kent Granden was not transported. All occupants were wearing seatbelts except for one juvenile passenger.

Next of kin has been notified.

This crash is currently under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

UPDATE: Simplot Blvd is now open at this time. Traffic is able to get through.

Idaho State Police is currently investigating a crash with complete blockage both east and westbound at Simplot Blvd. and Notus Rd. in Caldwell. Traffic is being diverted. More information will be released as it becomes available.
