On June 3rd, 2017 at 8:43 pm Matthew Swan, of St Maries, was travelling EB on SH6 at milepost 15 when he struck a deer. After striking the deer the motorcycle landed on its side and slid to a stop. Both the driver and passenger, Michele Bartlett of St Maries, were transported to Gritman Medical Center. Swan was wearing a helmet.
