On Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 4:58 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 86 near milepost 51, near Arbon Valley.

Stephen Pippenger, 44, of Downey, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 86 in a 2013 Mercedes 17 person passenger van, when he encountered a sudden downpour of rain. Pippenger lost control and went into the median where the vehicle rolled. The bus was empty at the time. Pippenger was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
