On Sunday, January 17, 2016, at approximately 8:50 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle injury crash on US26 near milepost 166.5, near Shoshone, ID.
Matthew Lezamiz, 26, of Richfield, ID, was driving eastbound on US26 in a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup. While attempting to pass another vehicle Lezamiz drove off the left shoulder of the road, through a canal, and came to rest in the borrow pit facing the wrong way.
Lezamiz was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.
The westbound lane of travel was blocked for approximately one hour.
