Shortly before 2:30 PM today, January 10, 2015, the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury crash on State Highway 52 near milepost 35, about halfway between Emmett and Black Canyon Dam. Jacob Atkinson, age 19 of Nampa, was traveling westbound on Highway 52 in a Honda Accord. Atkinson went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and went back across the lane and the center line. He struck an International truck driven by Jon Winter, age 75 of Emmett, who was traveling eastbound. Atkinson and his passengers were transported by ground ambulance to Walter Knox Memorial Hospital in Emmett, as was Winter. Atkinson and his front passenger were later transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus in Boise.
