On Sunday, October 19, 2014, at approximately 7:06 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, fatal crash northbound US-93 at milepost 313, north of Salmon. Andrew Johnston, 56, of Carmen, was northbound on US-93 at milepost 313 in a 2001 Ford F-250. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned.

Johnston was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Notifications have been made to his family.

The lanes were blocked for approximately half an hour. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
