On August 25, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single motorcycle crash on Highway 55 near milepost 79, near Banks.
Paul Hill, 73, of Pelham, Alabama, was driving his 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle hit a jersey barrier, hit the guardrail, and came to rest in the lane of travel. Hill was not wearing a helmet.
Hill was transported via air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
The lanes were blocked for approximately three and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
