ABC BULLETIN 25.01 – Direct-to-Consumer Shipments

Attention suppliers and consumers: The Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) is continuing its enforcement efforts regarding regulations on direct shipments of alcoholic beverages.

Wine is the only alcoholic beverage that can be legally shipped directly to consumers—but only by a U.S.-based winery holding a valid winery direct shipper’s permit (IC 23- 1309A). Packages must be labeled clearly, require delivery to a 21+ recipient, and cannot be left unattended.

Shipping spirituous liquor, beer, or malt liquor to Idaho consumers is strictly prohibited—whether from inside or outside the state.

For questions or clarifications, contact ABC@isp.idaho.gov or visit the Idaho State Legislature website to review current statutes.
