The ISP Leadership Education and Development Academy (ILEAD) stands as a rigorous leadership development program designed for high school students who have completed their high school freshman, sophomore, or junior years and are between 15 to 17 years of age. The program’s schedule is both dynamic and demanding, aimed at cultivating leadership skills in a holistic manner.
The days commence at 5:00 a.m. with a purposeful class or activity dedicated to promoting physical fitness. The day unfolds with a diverse array of activities, encompassing both classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences. The program maintains a balance between structured academic sessions and practical applications. Noteworthy highlights include a full-day excursion to the Idaho Capitol Mall and localized trips focused on engaging in community service initiatives.
The daily schedule concludes at 10:00 p.m. with an activity to foster esprit de corps, encapsulating the camaraderie and team spirit essential to effective leadership. Throughout the entire program, participants are under the guidance of mentors who have successfully graduated from the Idaho State Police Advanced Training Academy. This mentorship ensures a supportive and secure environment for the students, with an impressive staff-to-student ratio of approximately one staff member for every six students.
ILEAD is more than a program; it is an immersive and transformative experience tailored to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
