On February 2, at approximately 1625 hours, Idaho State Police District Two Troopers responded to a potential power line break crossing the highway on US12 near milepost 12. Once on scene, Troopers observed that the base of a pole had washed out, leaving the power pole flailing in the river. Due to the probable hazard, the road was closed to traffic. Clearwater Power was able to remove the lines and mitigate any further hazard. While they worked, the road remained closed for approximately two hours. District Two would like to thank the Nez Perce County Sheriff?s Office, Nez Perce Tribal Police Department, Idaho Transportation Department, Nez Perce County Office of Emergency Management and Clearwater Power for their diligent work and assistance. We would also like to thank the public and all those affected by this event for their cooperation and understanding.
