On November 24, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a non-injury crash at the intersection of Yakima Avenue and South Lincoln Avenue, in Jerome, Idaho. Officer Gates, age 32, of the Jerome Police Department was traveling south on Yakima Avenue, in a Dodge Charger. Travis Mesheski, age 32, of Twin Falls was traveling north on Yakima Avenue, in a Nissan Versa. Officer Gates turned in front of Mesheski's vehicle at a green light and struck Mesheski's vehicle.
The northbound lane of travel was blocked for approximately one hour. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
