Idaho State Police is investigating a crash that occurred on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 3:47 PM, eastbound on I84 at mile marker 44, in Meridian, in Ada County.

A 67-year-old man from Boise, was driving a 2005 Ford F150. A 34-year-old man from Boise, was driving a 2001 Ford F150. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on I84 when the 2005 Ford slid off the road into the gore between I84 and the on-ramp. The 2001 Ford left the roadway, struck the 67-year-old man, who had exited his vehicle, and rolled.

The 67-year-old man succumbed to his injures at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. The 34-year-old man was wearing a seatbelt and was not transported.

Two lanes of I84 were blocked for approximately two hours.
