On Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 11:01 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a motorcycle crash southbound on Simco Road at milepost 17.5, west of Mountain Home.
Louis Rauer, 52, of Boise, ID, was driving a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Simco Road. Rauer failed to negotiate a corner, went off the right shoulder of the roadway, and came to rest on the shoulder. Rauer was not wearing a helmet and was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID.
The lanes of Simco Road were blocked for one hour while crews worked to clear the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
