At 4:09 p.m. on August 15, 2018, the Idaho State Police investigated a one-vehicle crash southbound on I15 at milepost 16.9, about four miles north of Malad. Erin Murdock, age 29 of Idaho Falls, was southbound on I15 in a Pontiac Montana van when the rear tire blew out. Murdock went into the median, lost control of her vehicle, and rolled. Her passenger, Matthew Murdock, age 38 of Idaho Falls, was transported by ground ambulance to Oneida County Hospital in Malad. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
