On October 6, 2013, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on U.S. Highway 30 near milepost 221, outside of Twin Falls.

Jay L. Overmon Jr., 40, of Kimberly, was traveling west on U.S. Highway 30 in a 1999 Dodge Durango when he struck Douglas S. Cornelison, 50, of Jerome, who was walking across the street. Cornelison succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Both lanes of U.S. Highway 30 were blocked for approximately three hours and fifteen minutes. Next of kin has been notified. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
