Idaho State Police is investigating a crash on US-20 near milepost 317, west of Rigby, that occurred on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at approximately 8:55 a.m.

Traffic was slowed due to an incident on the westbound lanes of US-20. A female, 26, from Rexburg, Idaho, was driving eastbound on US-20 in a 2007 Ford Fusion. She failed to slow for traffic and rear-ended a 2014 Honda Civic driven by a female, 54, from Rigby, Idaho. The Honda spun and struck a 2018 Toyota 4Runner driven by a male, 64, from Telluride, Colorado.

All occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The 54-year-old female succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash. Notification to family has been made.

The lanes were blocked for approximately three hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
