DUI task force to increase patrols during Caldwell Night Rodeo
CALDWELL, Idaho — With thousands of people expected to attend the Caldwell Night Rodeo, the Treasure Valley DUI Task Force is increasing patrols as part of a three-day DUI enforcement operation beginning tonight.
The multi-agency task force will bring together law enforcement officers from across the Treasure Valley to conduct additional patrols. Drivers can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence on roadways leading to and from the rodeo and throughout the Caldwell area. The task force will also have a tent at the rodeo, where community members can stop by to learn more about DUI prevention and ask questions.
“Large events like the Caldwell Night Rodeo mean more traffic, more people traveling at night and more opportunities for someone to make a devastating decision after drinking,” ISP Sgt. Brandon Rowley said. “Enjoy the rodeo, but do it responsibly. Make a plan for a sober ride before the night starts.”
Plan before you go:
- Designate a sober driver before drinking.
- Use a rideshare, taxi or other sober transportation.
- Never ride with someone who has been drinking or using impairing substances.
The Caldwell Night Rodeo is a longstanding Idaho tradition. Law enforcement wants everyone attending to enjoy the event and help keep Treasure Valley roads safe. If you see a suspected impaired driver, you are encouraged to call 911 or *ISP (*477).
