SANE-A Clinical Skills: Refresher & Practicum (St. Maries)

This 8-hour interactive refresher course is designed for nurses who have previously completed a 40-hour SANE-A didactic training and wish to refresh their knowledge, refine examination techniques, and strengthen essential medical forensic skills.

Through focused instruction, demonstrations, and simulation-based practice, participants will review relevant anatomy, physical and anogenital examination techniques, forensic evidence collection, injury assessment, documentation, and current best practices in adult and adolescent sexual assault medical forensic examinations.

Using anatomical models, simulation equipment, and practical exercises, participants will have opportunities to reinforce foundational skills, apply clinical knowledge, and receive instructor feedback in a supportive learning environment. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, consistency, patient-centered care, and confidence in performing medical forensic examinations.
