Fatal crash on Spirit Lake Cutoff Rd and Beare Rd in Bonner County, ID

The Idaho State Police is investigating a two vehicle collision that occurred Saturday, March 31, 2025, at approximately 1019 hours, on Spirit Lake Cuttoff Rd near Beare Rd, in Bonner County, Idaho.

A Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, driven by a 70-year-old male from Hauser, Idaho, was traveling northbound on Spirit Lake Cuttoff Rd. The driver of the Harley-Davidson failed to negotiate a curve, lost control prior to crossing the center dividing line into the southbound lane. The driver of the motorcycle collided with a Water Truck, which was traveling southbound on Spirit Lake Cuttoff Rd.

The driver of the Harley-Davidson was wearing a helmet but was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Next of kin has been notified.

Traffic in both directions on Spirit Lake Cuttoff Rd was stopped for approximately three hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
