Fatal Crash on US12 at Milepost 134.5, East of Kooskia
Kooskia, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a single motorcycle fatality crash that occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. on July 17, on US12 at milepost 134.5 in Idaho County.
At approximately 10:35 a.m., a 65-year-old male from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada was travelling westbound on US12 on a Triumph motorcycle. The rider lost control, ran off the roadway, and was thrown from his motorcycle. The motorcycle and rider came to rest just off the roadway. Bystanders and other motorists made resuscitation attempts for approximately 75 minutes, but the rider was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel. The rider was wearing a helmet. Next of Kin has been notified.
Traffic on US12 was alternating as the westbound lane remained closed for almost 3 hours.
The Idaho State Police were assisted by Idaho County Deputies, Kooskia Ambulance, Idaho Transportation Department, and air ambulance.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
