Fatal Crash on US95 near Riggins, Idaho

The Idaho State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash which occurred on August 7, 2026 at 7:23 PM on US95 near milepost 198 in Idaho County, Idaho. A 74-year-old male from Riggins, Idaho, was traveling northbound on US95 in a silver 2016 Hyundai Tucson when he went left of center, off the left shoulder and into the Salmon River. Bystanders tried to assist but were unable to remove the male from the vehicle. The male was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Next of kin has been notified.
