Fatal Crash on US95 near Viola, Idaho
Viola, Idaho –
The Idaho State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash which occurred August 8th, 2026, at approximately 7:54 PM on US Highway 95 near milepost 353 in Latah County, Idaho.
A 36-year-old male from Moscow, Idaho, was driving a silver 2007 Kia Rio northbound on US Highway 95 when the vehicle crossed left of center and collided head-on with a southbound traveling white 2014 Honda Accord. The white Honda was driven by a 19-year-old female from Palouse, Washington.
It is unknown if the driver of the Kia was wearing a seatbelt, the driver of the Honda was wearing a seatbelt.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance. The driver of the Kia succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Both lanes of travel on US Highway 95 were intermittently blocked for approximately 3 hours.
Next of Kin has been notified.
The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
