On June 17th, 2019, at approximately 1:19 PM, the Idaho State Police responded to a fatal crash on State Highway 6 milepost 9, near Harvard, Idaho. A 2013 Western Star logging truck with trailer was being driven by John Rivers (55 year old male of Elk River, Idaho). It appeared as though Rivers experienced a medical emergency and drove off the north shoulder of the road. The roadway was restricted to one lane for approximately three hours. It is unknown whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt. Next of kin has been advised. The crash is still under investigation.
