On June 14, 2020, at approximately 8:50 a.m. a fatal crash occurred southbound US95 at milepost 189, six miles south of Riggins, Idaho. A grey 1992 Ford f150 pickup driven by Edgar J. Chamberlain, 63, of Craigmont, Idaho, was travelling northbound when he crossed over the southbound lane into the river. Charles D. Bentz, 23, of Craigmont, Idaho, who was also in the vehicle was partially ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene, Mr. Chamberlain was transported to Boise. Neither occupants were wearing seatbelts. Investigation is ongoing.
